Photo a day challenge

Here is Days 2 and 3. The first one is in honor of the BEST candy cane kisses. After my nail appointment on Saturday I went to Sam's Club where much to my delight, I found BIG bags of these. I was actually giggling in the store and I was so happy that I didn't care who heard me. I really want to get more so I have a whole year supply to last me till they come out again next year. Maybe if Julie reads this she will send me a box of them, since she drew my name for Christmas. :o)
Day 3 (today) I took a picture of the ornament I got in honor of my sister Debbie. I always place this one at the top of my tree. I got one of these for each family so they have a way to remember her during the holidays. It's been a special ornament for me to pull out and display these past 6 years since she's been gone.
On Saturday my side of the family met at Macayo's Mexican food restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was a lot of fun to get together with everyone. I didn't even get rumbly gut which was a huge bonus! :o) After that we went to Cole's basketball game. This game was unreal! The other team were good players but extremely mean and very aggressive. I hated watching it. Plus the dumb ref wasn't calling any of the fouls. In the 3rd quarter one of our girls was punched in the face and was crying. She's no sissy girl. She a great player and very tough. She doesn't cry easily. Our coach had had enough by that time and our whole team walked out. The other teams parents were yelling at us and calling us quitters. I couldn't believe they condoned their 8-10 year old kids to play that way. The whole point of a ref calling the fouls is to teach these kids the proper way to play. Once they noticed the ref wasn't calling anything they got even rougher. Cole only has one more game. I'm glad the season is almost over.
I taught primary today. I only had 2 kids, but you'd think there were a dozen. Those two little boys were wild...very adorable, but wild none the less. I took a much needed long nap after church. I also cooked a big turkey dinner with all the fixins. It was so good! I'm still full. I need to go to clean the kitchen, but I wanted to blog instead before I got too tired, since I didn't have time to post yesterday. I hope you all had a terrific weekend! Off to do the dishes!!! Yay me!

Those pages look great! One day, I'm going to get an afternoon to myself so I can get caught up! I guess I'll have to wait until my two red-heads make their annual trek to South Carolina and leave me at home for a week!

It sounds like you had a busy weekend. Have fun with those dishes - mine are calling my name too.

i'm so glad you got more kisses!

dang - that game sounded like mean girls come to play. what does it teach the kids anyways? that adults can be more childish than kids and so need a good time out!
i'm sorry Cole had to see that.

love the bird ornament...this year, i found a teacup ornament in honor of Brendan's dad (very Irish, drank a LOT of tea) and need to find a little frog for his mom.

Your pages are too cute!

How are you adapting to your home minus a cute infant? :(

Wish I could taste those candy cane kisses - my favourite are the caramel ones but we don't get them here. I just stock up whenever I go and visit my sister-in-law in Chicago ;o). Love the bird ornament, how very special and what a lovely reminder of your sister.

Jolene, I just love your blog!!! You are such a neat person and so talented!

Please continue to share your album pages with us. I think it's great that your found more peppermint kisses. I looked all weekend and couldn't locate them here in our area of Florida. Every time I thought I had them spotted I discovered they were Cherry Cordial...not what I want!!!

The beautiful bird ornament in memory of your sister is such a sweet loving rememberance.

What age did you teach in primary? From what I've been hearing, Reilly and another boy have become the rambunctious *energetic* kids in his class that give the teacher trouble. It's odd since in preschool his teacher says that he is one of the best kids she has. I guess church is his place to go crazy.

I'm so happy to hear you found big bags of your favorite new treat!! I'm loving your photo a day layouts. The dove ornament you place on your tree (and your other family members) is such a wonderful tribute to your sister. I have to tell you ... I do the same thing to remember my father. I have this feathered dove I place at the top portion of my tree each year in remembrance of my dad. They live on in our hearts everyday, and with a very special ornament on our Christmas trees each year.

OMG! I am in T-R-O-U-B-L-E! Those kisses are amazing! I just bought some tonight! I very much dislike regular chocolate, but just love white chocolate! As soon as my boys go to bed, there's a whole entry going onto my blog! Thanks for sharing!

ok, got to get the kisses. my son played select soccer all through high school. we had a broken growth plate, broken arm and a front tooth knocked loose. we now have a discolored front tooth. I hated it and sometimes I wouldn`t go to the games, I couldn`t stand it. I hate to tell you this but, for us it only gets worse as they get older. my daughter is now playing select soccer I would give anything if she would stop. the girls (17yr olds) are just as mean. how did we get here???

I'm dying to try these kisses now!!

The pages are wonderful...and I keep forgetting to look for the kisses while I'm out...darn it! I am so sorry about the game, and I think it was brave of them to walk out...poor sportmanship is not something that you want your kids to learn!

I put Debbie's ornament near the top of my tree too. I miss her. I told you the wrong time period of how many years she has been gone. She died at 40 and she's 10 years older than me and I am now 36-but she died August 1, 2001 which would be 5 years ago in August - not 6. Sorry!
