cool!!!

Kyle brought home this flyer from school. It's an ad for the seniors to get their portraits taken tomorrow. Notice who is in the bottom corner shaking the principals hand while getting his diploma? yep! that's my Brek who graduated last year. Keep in mind that this is just a scan of a black and white copy that was folded up in Kyle's pocket. We had no idea he was chosen to be on the flyer...cool huh?!

cute kids!

My niece and nephew (Kayce and Kindra) are heading to Tennessee now that school is over to be with their mom and dad. I took a bunch of pictures of them this morning. (70 to be exact) They turned out pretty cute I think. I also took a bunch of Preston. He is a little boy that my sister has had in her daycare since he was 6 weeks old. Coleen combed his hair before we left, but he was rolling all over in the grass so it got a bit poofy. He is so adorable! The second to the last picture is Preston and my nephew Kaden. They are the best little buddies. Kaden is very protective of him. They all did pretty well in their photo shoot. I'm going to really miss Kindra and Kayce! :o(
Before they left we made up shirts for them to wear on the plane ride home. It says:
I (name) am on
temporary loan
to Tennessee...
I must be returned
to Arizona by
July 15th 2008
thank you!
love,
the family :o)

home improvements

There are lots of changes going on here on the home front. We got carpet installed in the family room and living room on Tuesday. We still need to do Brek and Brittany's room. It was original to the house (1987)...pretty bad! We're talking rusty peach color with permanent stains bad. It is different and prettier than what we put upstairs several months ago. We ordered living room furniture a month ago, but the fabric is on back order so we are still waiting. The plan is to put the blue furniture down stairs because it goes better with the red walls and put the brown furniture in storage for Brek and Brittany to use later. I got paint and stuff to redo two bathrooms in blue and tan relaxing spa like colors. Plus more red paint in a deeper tone to go over the red walls in the family room. Paint is such a cheap way to make things look new...Love that! The best part is that we FINALLY got new bedroom furniture that we will be picking up Saturday morning. For those of you that know and have seen the set that I've had for the past 20 years that was given to me by my in-laws (it was theirs when they were married some 40+++years ago) Hello! It is TIME for an upgrade. Nothing against the in-laws because I love them dearly...not like some of you who have monster in-laws, but I think I've been a real trooper for holding out a full 20 years, 2 months and 19 days. :o) Pictures to come as things get put together. I'm so excited! I love creating a home that is welcoming to my family and friends and a place that I love to be....FUN STUFF!

macro lens

Just wanted to show you a picture comparison. I couldn't sleep so I decided to try out the new macro lens I bought from my good friend September. I think I'm going to really enjoy it! Can't wait to take pictures of baby hands and feet with this. :o)
P.S. The cost to bling is $150 for the phone and $25 for the bling string. The flower charm I already had on it. I got that at Scrapbooks Etc....the BEST store on the planet! HONEST!
I can't help but smile when I look at my phone. It makes me giggle. I know...I'm weird! I LOVE IT!

Bling it baby!

How freaking cute is this?! My good friend Rhonda has a business called "Bling it on". She blings phones, camera's, ipods, car remotes, etc. I can't tell you how much I love what she did with my phone last night. Hee..hee. LOVE IT! I think all girls need a little bling in their life...especially those of us who are surrounded by all things boy. If any of you are interested in her work, here is her information. Rhonda (602) 396-6717. Or you can email her at rhondamarkham@hotmail.com She is working on her website right now. She is very creative and has lots of styles and designs or just tell her what kind of bling you'd like. :o)

My home run hero!

Tonight was Cole's last game of the season. I didn't get to go because Cody had a band concert at school so Mark and I had to each take a boy to their different things. Cody plays the clarinet and did very well tonight. Cole called me after the game from Peter Piper Pizza with his awesome news. He hit 2 home runs and a triple. That one would have been a home run too, but a boy on third base was confused on whether to keep running. Mark said he hit the ball clear to the fence everytime...so impressive. He LOVES his trophy! I'm so proud of my little dude! :o)

Graduation

Chad and Brittany are both graduating this year. They have both been finished with school since April, but have been waiting for the actual ceremony. Thursday June first is that, then on Friday June 2nd we are having a huge pool party and barbeque to celebrate. Last year we had a big turn out for Brek party so we are anticipating double that because Brittany has a very large family too. I'm making all kinds of yummy food for it. I'm sure it will be a success. I'm so proud of these two!
I'm out of here. I need to finish making 59 more graduation announcements and then start moving all the furniture out of the living room, family room and Brek and Brittanys room. The carpet installer will be here in the morning. I don't have a clue where exactly we are going to move it too. It's not going to be fun. Plus a contractor friend is on his way over to look at our pool fence and I have yet to take a shower...AHHHHH!!! Happy Monday everyone!

Gastroschisis

Here is a link to learn more about gastroschisis. I pray that my grandson is one of the 8 in 10 that has no lasting damage from this problem. The whole thing just scares me.

It's a BOY!!!!!

As you can see from the ultrasound, he was not shy. He's all BOY! We pretty much knew since boy's in the George family HIGHLY out number the girls. Doesn't he have the cutest little face. He wouldn't turn all the way over to get a better shot, but still cute! Now we can finally shop!..hee..hee..
On a down note, there was a problem. He has a hole next to his belly button that didn't close and his small intestines are on the outside. After he is born he will be taken to surgery to have them tucked back in where they go. Of course it is a very scary thing to all of us to hear there is a problem, but they assure us it's fixable. Brittany will be closely monitored and have lots of ultrasounds to make sure everything stays healthy. Please keep this sweet little baby in your prayers.

flower cuteness!

Look what came in the mail today!!! The prima daisy rack! I think it's very cute, but a little dissapointing since the cute flowers in the front of the jars are not the same as what's inside. The ones in the jars are the same colors, but don't have the cute center part. I still love it, but wish I had known since I already have loads of flowers like that.
I just got home from taking Brittany to the doctor. I got to listen to the heartbeat. SO FUN!!! He/she was moving around so much during that. She has gained 15 pounds so far. Everything is looking good. After her appointment we called to schedule her ultrasound which we were told would be one to two weeks out, so to our surprise they had an opening TOMORROW morning at 8:45. We are just so excited to get a peek at this little baby. I honestly will be happy no matter what she's having. I just really want HEALTHY! Wish us luck and I'll post an update tomorrow!

Writing on the wall...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My computer has been down. I'm back on track now. I finally got my wall words up in my scraproom. It's a little tricky to hang such a long quote. I'm sure it was quite a site to see me stretched out standing on my file cabinet and desk. What impressed me most was that they actually held my weight. There was fear that I'd come crashing down. I couldn't fit it all in one shot, which is why I had to take 2 pictures. It says: "Scrapbooks bind together memories to warm our hearts and remind us that life has been good." You can click on the pictures to see a larger version. I love the way it looks and how it makes me feel. I ordered this from a local company called writing on the wall, which was far more reasonably priced than other companies I've found on line. If you want, you can check them out here.

National Scrapbook Day....

Yesterday was national scrapbook day. I convinced my sister Coleen to come over to my house to scrapbook by telling her it would be a sin not to scrap ON our holiday. Now her husband thinks I'm an idiot, but I don't care. She came over and we had a great time. She got several way cute layouts done and in her new album. I started to work on graduation announcements, but that was clearly not as fun as working on my own pages. This was a day for fun so I put those things away. I only got these 4 pages done. For some reason I was in turtle mode and didn't get alot accomplished. I still love what I did get done. I was planning on going crazy with embellishments, but decided to keep it simple. I'm so glad I did! I love the feeling you get when you look at pages you've done and all the memories of that event or day comes flooding back. It's so satisfying.
I hope all my scrapbooking friends out there had a wonderful, productive, fun day!

Neighborhood plate...

I picked up this plate to start a bit of fun in our neighborhood. I'm going to make treats tomorrow and deliver them to one of my neighbors. The plate has instruction to do the same to keep it moving. I think it will be fun. I could'nt fit the whole thing on my scanner, but you get the idea. In case you can't read it, it says...
This is our traveling
neighborhood plate
to say "we love you! we think you're great!"
Enjoy these goodies we have for you,
then here is what you have to do...
Fill it with treats and pass it along,
Share love with your neighbor and don't wait too long!

cool rider...

Cool rider makes me think of the song from Grease 2...Coo ooo oool rider! LOL! Mark always puts on a big smile when he's on his bike. He loves it so much! It's kind of sick just how much. He was upset that Coleen cut the wheels out of the picture. No, we do NOT go riding with out helmets. He just wanted me to get on for a quick snap shot. Sure is a beautiful bike. Sometime soon I'll have to get a picture of us on it in our leather jackets, chaps and the whole gere. It would be pretty funny. :o) Thanks for looking!
