I'm so done!

Happiness is...having ALL 240 cards DONE!!! Yep! I'm done! Addressed, sealed, stamped and to be delivered tomorrow. With the exception of a couple of addresses I still need to get. Oh happy day!
There is a cold front hitting Arizona today. Mark and I took the bike to the star riders dinner and I FROZE my butt off...seriously! As soon as we got home I got into warm pajamas. I could only find one slipper so I warmed one foot at a time. Now that I've thawed out I feel much better. I don't envy you girls who live in cold country. I'm such a wimp!

Amy gave a great tutorial on her blog for how to photograph Christmas lights since a bunch of you asked her for help. I tried again tonight, but I couldn't find my remote and just held down the button myself. I'm still happy with the results. It looks sparkly and much better...thanks Amy!
Today would have been my oldest sister Debbie's 46th birthday. She died 6 years ago and we all miss her dearly. Here is a picture of all of us when we were little. From left to right...Me, Julie, Debbie, Coleen, and Rene'. Happy Birthday Debbie...We love you! Isn't it ironic that my mother had 5 girls and I had 5 boys??? LOL!

Random thoughts...

  • Really wishing I was done with my Christmas shopping. Older kids are VERY hard to shop for.
  • Brek, Brittany, and baby Mark are moving out this weekend. I have mixed emotions about that.
  • I've GOT to start getting to bed much earlier. This 12:00-2:00 is just plain nuts!
  • You know you're old when you sneeze and pee you pants...or cough, laugh hard or jump on the trampoline for that matter.
  • The next several days are going to be nothing but cleaning and decorating...with some ornament making snuck in there.
  • Welcome all of my new blog readers...feel free to leave comments. I love to read them!
  • My dad's Birthday is tomorrow (Thursday) Happy Birthday Dad...I love you! :o)

You are amazing!! Your cards are gorgeous and DONE!! Your tree is stunning! Those ornaments are the sweetest things! I really am awed by you! And you still look so fresh and pretty in your picture!

I love the picture of your sisters and you. What precious memories you must have.

Don't work too hard with cleaning and such...you deserve a rest!

That grandbaby is one lucky guy to have you as Grandma!

I too am sad to say that bedtime is often 12:00pm - 2:00am. I am a night person but still have to rise at 6 am to get a little girl off aqnd running!
Gee, I wonder why I am always tired?? : )

Happy Birthday to your Dad. Give him lots of hugs. I so miss mine...

Take care dear Jolene,
Sue

I can't believe you made that many cards!! Holy cow!! Good for you. K, I need to check out the tutorial, can you post the blog link??

(I got your link off Heather White's blog. She's a close friend of mine and I've enjoyed lurking at your blog since I clicked on your link!)

Jolene - Congrats on getting all those Christmas cards done! (do you need MY address? heehee!).
My adult children (who still live at home for now) get lots of gift cards for Christmas - it takes the guessing out of what to get them and they seem to enjoy it. I still get them a few gifts to unwrap, but it's more fun for all involved when they can go out after the holidays and shop for themselves.
My shopping is nearly finished - I'm doing all my on line shopping today and I'll be done! Now, Christmas cards... that's another story!

Jolene, wow! 240 cards. That's amazing. I think if I had to make that many I would make 1 and scan it! Congrats on finishing them.

For the pee pee thing, try kegels.

And your photo looks great. Your tree glows! I love the reflection in the doors behind it.

Good for them to gain their independence...and you'll have more room BUT I bet it saddens you :(

Yes, well I'm going to be 31 soon and after 3 c-sections, there are many times I let a little loose when I sneeze or cough :)

Amy who, is she on yourlist of bloggers??

YaY!! I got my cards stamped and return addressed and that's where I stopped, lol

So love your photo of you and all your sisters! I'm sorry to hear about Debbie I know how much you must still miss her!

Happy Bday to your Dad!

I'm sure Brek, Brit and baby Mark aren't going too far so don't be too sad! ;)

I am amazed girl, Jolene you continue to be my hero, 240 cards, 5 kids and a hubby, man, I am so amazed.

Your photo of the tree looks beautiful. I will give that a try. Thanks Amy.

And the kitties, are they leaving the beautiful tree alone?

Thank you for the random thoughts, though mine are not exact they are very close to yours.

Blessings and lotsa rest,
Tiara

Thanks so much for the link to the tutorial. I have a Kodak CX6445, but it used to belong to my (photographer extraodinaire) sister, and she says there is a setting to leave the shutter open longer. She also suggested since I don't have a remote to use the self-timer.

Or, if that fails, she said I can borrow her Nikon D20! The camera she's trying to get me to buy from her, because she says digital photography is stealing her soul - little drama queen!

Yay Jolene! on getting all those cards done. That's got to be a relief.

It will be good for Brek and Brittany to be on their own. My own marriage improved greatly(not that it was bad, but I had a tendency to run to Mom) when my hubby and I moved to Mesa 17 years ago. Good luck to them.

What a cute holiday photograph, Jolene!!! Those clothes bring back some m-e-m-o-r-i-e-s.

Congratulations on getting the cards DONE!!!! That is quite a feat. I'm just getting going on mine amongst a few other projects, so they are taking their sweet time.

I did go ahead and buy that adhesive and applicator you told me about. I got the new one that does 1/4" adhesive. So far, I like it. The adhesive is much cheaper and I am hoping that it is stronger than the mono.

You need to get some jammies with feet in them so both of your footsies will be warm at the same time!!!

Congratulations on finishing your cards and having them ready to mail. You're way ahead of me!

Your tree looks so beautiful...the picture is wonderful...looks like it should be a Christmas card...now there's a thought!!! The picture of you with your sisters is so cute. I love looking back at old family photos. They bring back such happy memories.

Congrats on the cards...I was just trying to add up all that postage in my head...and even with fingers it's a hard one!

The tree looks beautiful...and I just almost had a heart attack when I realized it's about time to start baking to...

I'm glad that I was part of helping you with the cards. Happy that they are finally done. Thanks for helping me with my foster care book. Everyone in class loved it - of course. I still don't have my tree up. Doing it this weekend. See you Saturday at Macayos. Love Coleen

that tree is gorgeous, congrats on getting the cards done. i have to admit i'm a lil sad that the kids and grandkid are moving out. but i'm sure they'll do fine! i'm with jen and some of the others. i'm in my early 30's and after a few kids, i can't cough, sneeze or jump on a trampoline either. and i'm done kegels but they are boring and i don't think i've done enough.
