Weekend Crop

It's been a couple of years since I went on my last weekend crop. (2004) We use to go every year to a gorgeous resort in Tucson. It was so fun and I always got so many pages done. The first year we had a whole 6 foot table each to ourselves. Each year our work space got smaller and smaller until this last year when we had to squeeze into a workspace of 18 inches by 3 feet. Didn't get nearly as much done that time, but we had fun anyways. It was a 50's theme and the group of friends I went with ordered custom pink bowling shirts with Chatty Scrapper Chicks on the back and our names embroidered on the front....really cute! (in the picture the s is cut off) That was the last year they held these in Tucson. The reason I bring this up is because I really miss going to my yearly weekend crop. I was thinking that when my finances are back on the upswing that I'm going to organize a SMALL crop with maybe a dozen girls...probably up in Payson. I will let you all know when I get my plans firmed up, so that if any of you local girls are interested, we could have a fun scrapbooking weekend together in the Mountains.

Susie Q and Andi are the ones organzing the monthly care package mailings to Chad, so if any of you would like to sign up for a month, you can let one of them know on their blogs. I would really love to see a picture on your blog on the month that you send to him. I talked to him about it and he was so excited! He really isn't too picky and would be thrilled with whatever you came up with to put in his boxes. Thank you so much for your huge hearts! I know some of you are sending him cards and writing him letters. They will mean the world to him and just so you know, he never throws them away because he likes to read his mail over and over. You girls are the best...seriously! :o)

Wish I could come. I think that is just what you need. I just had my yearly trip and it really does a scrapper good to get away for a few days and laugh and talk, eat and just have a realxing time.

Happy Friday

How fun! I'd love to go on a scrapping weekend! Don't really have any fun ones around here to go to. We plan to visit our friends in Cave Creek and my BIL in Anthem this year, I'll have to let you know when we're going so we can meet up!

Looks like you had a good time at your weekend crop. Sometimes just being together is worth it...even if we don't get too much done. I wish I lived close enough to come scrap with you sometime!

Wow-a scrapbooking weekend. I need one of those--maybe a year or 2 of weekends--in order to catch up on my scrapbooking. How fun!!

Jolene, I need your help to get me back in the grove of scrapbooking.

Chad is stuck with me for March. Umm maybe a lot of green? St. Patty's that is?

Take care
Terri

A whole weekend for being creative? How wonderful that would be...and it does look like you had a good time. I think a small scale scrapping would be just what the Dr. ordered!

Hi Jolene, I'd love to be in your crop (if I lived in the US) - I bet you'd have a great time! I'm going to my first crop weekend ever the last weekend in March (Stacey Julian and Donna Downey are teaching - in England!!) Looking forward to it but not really knowing what to expect =o). Have a great weekend.

Oh Jolene, your shirts are sooo cute!! I'm so glad you had a nice time at your crop event. I totally must have missed the posts about Chad's care packages, because I soooo want to be a part of that. I will email Andi and Susie Q to find out which month(s) are free. Do you mind sharing when Chad's birthday is?

You all look so "pretty in pink"!!! Love the shirts and what a great idea! I could use a year of weekends to crop and perhaps then I might be a little caught up. I always need lots of room to spread my "stuff" out to work.

I tried to post comments to your blog yesterday but blogger wouldn't let me.

Have a wonderful weekend. It's a long one for me with MLK day on Monday I'm off. Maybe I can crop then...if I have my scrapbook room clean!

I've been on one weekend crop and it was before I started scrapbooking. LOL I just hung out watching movies and stuffing my face with the girls while they cropped away. It was on that trip I made my first scrapbooking purchases to get started. If I was closer to Arizona I would be on that trip when you plan it!! Have a good weekend!

You girls all look so cute! Looks like fun. I can see why you'd plan your own, so you can get more work space. A small crop would be a blast to go to.
