Look who's turning one

Baby Mark is turning one years old on Sunday. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. I decided to share a few pictures of the past year. I can't help but think back to this small baby being born with his intestines on the outside and his very long hospital stay at the start of his little life. He has not suffered at all after recovering from that. It has been a joy to watch him grow and learn all kinds of new things, as well as watching Brek and Brittany grow as parents. They have done a wonderful job and I'm very proud of them. We plan on celebrating his birthday with a small party at my house on Monday. I can't wait to see him...and John too. I miss that little family so much.
So what are your plans for the holiday weekend?

He is soooo cute. Happy Birthday Baby Mark (my Mark is 7 and the family still refers to him as "Baby Mark")!

No plans this weekend. Just to relax. Can't believe it's Memorial Day already. Where did the summer go?

Such a cute little guy! Happy birthday baby Mark!! I didn't realize he had that happen to him at birth. You'd never know to look at him now! Such wonderful, miraculous things that can be done these days!

Aside from my own children, of course, he is the cutest little guy I have seen! You have great self control to not be over there every day. I didn't know about his problems at birth and he looks GREAT! Happy Birthday Baby Mark.

Wow! Seeing that pic of him born with his intestines on the outside made me realize that I had a LOT of catching up to do ... so I just spent an HOUR catching up on your life for the last year. WOW. I felt terrible about Chad's first days in the service, and awful about the "friend" who criticized you for sharing "too much" personal info ... that's what I LOVE about your blog!!! Your honesty! The "real"ness of it! That's how life IS and I love that you share it all. it makes me feel better to know that I am not alone in those trials, big and small that come up ... we all have them and we all get through them and it's nice to share about them. I read all about baby Mark's baby shower and the darling movie theme WOW and his birth and the weeks after ... so I think this next statement is much deserved by Baby Mark: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY MARK! you little miracle guy you! I hope you enjoy it ... because I'm imagining that he will never forget how nice it feels to have food stay down when you eat it, and he appreciates meals more than the average little guy.
OH! And thank you thank you thank you for showing your scrap room before you gave it an organizational face lift. YOU ARE HUMAN AFTER ALL! Oh my gosh, I am always looking at you like you are TOO PERFECT and like there is NO HOPE that I will EVER be as organized as you ... but you used to have a messy room! Yeahhhhh! That's me right now. But I can organize mine too!!! That made me the happiest of all.
Wendy bo bendy so dang happy to know you and happy Labor Day

p.s. I realize that SO MUCH OF THAT COMMENT MADE NO SENSE WHATSOEVER ... to clarify: OBVIOUSLY you are human ... I mean ... DUH! You are so kind and so wonderful and I love you ... what I MEANT was that even the amazingly organized Jolene, who we all look to for organizational ideas because of your amazingness, had a messy room at one point! THAT'S what I meant. I hope it came across right. I realized after I read it that it sounded .... WEIRD. Seeing your messy scrapbook table and then the reorganized one (which still looks PHENOMENAL ... I SAW IT IN PERSON!) just gave me hope. That's what I meant.
I hope that came through.
You are an amazing person and an inspiration to me. That's my point. There. I love ya' woman!

Happy Birthday Baby Mark, It's so amazing to see a recap of your first year in pictures. Jolene, he is one strong lil boy who looks absolutely amazing. Your son and daughter in law are doing an amazing job, you can take great pride in knowing you helped raise a great son to become a great father.

Hope you are having a great Labor day.
