Saturday morning we got up at 5:00 a.m. to help my brother in laws family pack up their house and load the trucks so they could move to Seattle. I'm so sad they are moving so far away. We finished up at lunch time and took to boys to get a bite to eat then headed back to Maricopa. That afternoon they had flooded some of the farm land so that we could play mud football. Let me just say that there is nothing funner to boys than this. We were there for 3 long hours and they enjoyed every minute. I didn't play because...well...I'm a wimp. Mark didn't play because of his cracked ribs, so we sat on the sidelines and baked in the sun the whole time. We did however get splashed several times when they'd run in for a touchdown. I was really surprised to see so many teenage girls join in. It was pretty entertaining to watch. We made them ride home in the back of the work van and hosed them off in the back yard. Clothes went right in the dumpster. Not even worth trying to wash. After such a long physical day we all slept great that night. That's my life as a mom of a bunch of boys and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Are you ready for some football?
Mud fooball that is....

Love your pics of the mud game *smile*. I heard many stories from my husband Rick when they played mud football. They all looked as though they had a blast. Thanks for sharing.
Take care,
Love,
Terri
That looks like such fun! Me I'd be on the sidelines watching too, very very far away from the MUD that is LOL.
Oh my gosh!! I cracked up seeing your pictures, girl!! Those smiles are priceless and it really looks like a lot of fun! Great idea! Sorry about Mark's ribs...and I wouldn't have been out there myself, either...so I don't think you're a wimp! Have a great day tomorrow! : )

Your pictures made me laugh! What fun they're having. That will make a great scrapbook page layout. I've actually never seen this mud football in action so I enjoyed your post! I think I would have been sitting "way back" off the sideline!
How fun! My boys would love this too, but my girl would be in there too!
Your town does some fun stuff!
I can see they had fun!! Did I miss something, what happened to Mark's ribs??
Oh Wow, looks like the boys had a blast! Not my idea of fun (I'd be on the sidelines) but I can see why the kids would enjoy it. I was also wondering if I had missed something about Mark's ribs.
ACK! That is just dirty! ;) I don't think I could even watch that! LOL!
What great pictures - looks like lots of fun!
Oh my gosh!! What crazy FUN!!!
You are so right Jolene! What guys & boys (and girls!) wouldn't love to get down and dirty playing football in the mud!!!
And great pics too!! You sooo captured the moment! What a fun scrap layout! Be sure to share pics!
You are an awesome Mom Jolene!

How fun! My gang would of loved that too. Have a great week.
Wow...what a different life when you have all boys rather than all girls! LOL!!! Looks like they had a BLAST!
Seattle? Did you say, Seattle?!!! Well, you'll HAVE to come up and visit them and then we can finally meet face to face!!!! YIPEEEE!
And check out my blog for a fun, new announcement, speaking of Seattle! ;)
-d.
Seattle is a great place. You will enjoy visiting them when AZ gets too hot.
:0)
Wow..... I can't even begin to describe how fun that looks! hahaha! Lucky boys!
Oh wow! Definitely messey, but you can tell they're having a blast!!
That looks like fun. My sister lives near Seattle in Kirkland. I have yet to get over there to visit (it is 3000 miles from here). One of these days.....
I'm so glad you said you threw the clothes in the dumpster...when I saw your pictures all I could think of was "how is she ever going to get the dirt out of the clothes." So glad your boys had fun! ( I would most definetly be on the sidelines...too muddy for me)
How great are you!?!??! You do so much for others! And now that I have BEEN in the Arizona heat, I am in AWE of you, sitting there in the SUMMER Arizona heat for hours on end watching your boys play football! YOU ROCK!! (My car thermometer said 115 degrees outside!!! HOT!!!) What a trooper! I might have jumped into the mud ... but I certainly wouldn't have played!!! YIKES. Scary. Contact sports are a no go for me. I'm a wimp too. My birthday WAS nice, thanks! Ate SO much ice cream!
p.s. My hubby's family all live in Seattle! Federal Way. Nice ward! LOTS of nice people out that way!
y'know - i've never played mud football, but it looks like a ton of fun!
and i'm with you, clothes? wash? for-get-it. into the trash with you, missy!
This looks like a blast! Oh those clothes would be history! : )
Bill used to play mud football and has gotten *dirty* recently as well.
I think I would love to play...: )
Love,
Sue

I am twitching just looking at the mud but my little one would have dove in head first - and she's a girl!
