baby sitting and before & after

I went to town today to take care of the boys while Brek and Brittany went grocery shopping. I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to take care of two kids that are less than a year apart. It was all good while John was sleeping and Mark and I got to play together, but when he was awake and needed my attention, Mark was NOT happy. He's still a baby himself and doesn't comprehend me not giving him my undivided attention. At one point I was rocking both boys in my arm, which isn't easy because Mark kept ripping John's pacifier out of his mouth and I had no free hands to do anything about it. I don't even think it's possible to feed and change a baby while keeping the other baby happy and out of things he shouldn't be in. I sure love these boys and I commend Brittany and Brek for taking such good care of them around the clock. It's one tough job...even for a few hours. Getting smooches and smiles from them make it all worth it.

I also took Pappi to the groomers. I'm so sick of dog hair everywhere! My vacuum cleaner is sick of it too. His hair was so long and falls out it clumps and one by one, so off it goes. He was so happy when we got home. He rolled around all over the floor. I think he looks younger with short hair. He wouldn't cooperate with me for a good picture so this is the best it gets. He sure is cute, and YES I am aware how fat he is. He is a naughty little get in to things he shouldn't kind of dog. :o)
Cody was suspended from school today for 5 days. Nice, huh?! A boy shoved his girlfriend to the ground, Cody shoved him back, the boy punched him. They both got suspended. I do understand the zero tolerance, but poor Cody is in trouble for defending a girl.
Last night I booked a room at the Welk resort in San Diego for October. We haven't had a real family vacation in several years so we're really excited. It's 45 minutes from the beach and Sea World, but I did lots of research and it turns out to be cheaper to get a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, kitchen, dining room, balcony, washer/dryer at this gorgeous resort than it was to get two crappy rooms close to all the fun stuff. Plus anytime we request adjoining rooms we never get them. This way we know where our boys are and since we'll have a kitchen I can cook to save some money on out to eat meals. We are only staying 3 nights. We plan on going to the beach, Sea World, and to tour the USS Midway. Since we are on a budget I was wondering if any of you know where I can get discount tickets to Sea World?
Gotta hit the showers...Iv'e got an early yet fun morning ahead of me...details to follow!

Sweet of you to take care of the cutie pie boys for Mom and Dad to do some errands. I can't imagine how busy and how much work it must be... kudos to them for doing such a fine job! The boys are just adorable!! Loved your bit about the dog hair... I took Ross last week and had the same thing done for the same reason...and got the same result - a fat dog!! Oh lordy...! Congrats on taking a family vacation! How exciting and soooo deserved! Sorry I'm not any help about tickets, but I bet someone knows something to help you out! : )

Your grandbabies are sooo cute!!! They are so different looking, I think John looks more like Brittany. They are both darling boys, lucky grandma!!!!

Have fun in San Diego, that's one of my very favorite vacation spots. You can get discount tickets at getawaytoday.com Check it out and see how much they are. I use them a lot for all of So Cal attractions.

Those little guys are so cute! And yes their coloring is so diferent. John looks so alert.

My Jillian is like that. She is so fair/red haired with hazel eyes. The rest of us are brown haired and brown eyed LOL.

Can't believe Cody was suspended for that! Really unbelievable. Sometimes I don't understand schools.

How cute are your grandsons!? Adorable! Can't wait until I've got another soft little baby around to snuggle with.

Sorry, can't help you with tickets but I think it's fantastic you're making this holiday happen.
Aren't the boys getting big, hats off to Brittany and Brek it can't be easy with two babies so close together.
How is Cody taking his suspension? It does seem unfair when all he was doing was sticking up for the girl. No wonder people don't help out anymore!
Have a great weekend.

Brek & Brittany are lucky to have a good support system. They are going to continue to need it! Yay on a vacation for the George family! I hope you find some cheap Sea World tickets.
Poor Cody. I still think he did the right thing.

How exciting! The weather should be a little cooler here by October too! I know you can get tickets at Costco out here...I'm not sure how much they are. I can do some checking around. I'll get back to you ;)

Oh how exciting!! We love San Diego. That resort sounds way nice and I'm all for saving money to spend on much more important stuff (like playing and scrapbooking - LOL), plus it sounds like it will be way nicer than a hotel!! Yeah!!

Poor Cody. 5 days is a long time for that. I could see 1 or 2 days for that. Too bad. What are you going to have him do all that time??

For discount tickets for SeaWorld, have you checked Costco or Sam's Club?? I know our Costco has tickets for Disneyland and I *thought* I saw some for SeaWorld once too, but I could be wrong! If not, then there has to be some place online that offers some. I remember seeing TV commercials about them with a website. If I can remember what it was, I'll let you know!

And those grandbabies are sure cute!! John is already looking so grown up. I can only imagine how hard it is to take care of them both at the same time. You're brave, and so are their parents!!

the babes remind of my two boy's. My boys are 13 1/2 months apart oooo how I remember taking care of "two" babies. they are sooooo cute Jolene.

Love San Diego and your gonna love the USS Midway. I'll see if any of the fastfood places over here have some coupons for a discount.

I can't believe you could get suspended for standing up for someone else! Schools are really weird. The boys are too cute...and so is the dog! My sister lives in SanDiego...and I swear my local AZ State and FederalCredit Union had discount tickets for CA attractions...you should check yours down there.

You can do it Jolene...you had lots of babies :) LOL!! Both boys are so cute.

Gotta love the way the schools operate, either they do nothing or they go hog wild. What's up with teh boy pushing a girl around? He's headed for jail....geesh!

That's a cool resort. We stayed there with Steven's folks when Josh was about a year old. We had a gorgeous condo... now that I think of it, we all spent time watching the OJ "car chase" there... LOL Anyhow, it is a ways from anything, but they do have a variety of pools, plusalso they have a pretty good billiards room in one of the recreation spots on the resort. It's more geared toward old people and golfers, but it was a beautiful place... :)

P.S. The grandbabies look so darling. :) I'm sorry about the school thing, that just sucks. At Josh's school they get "Saturday detention" if they forget to wear their school ID visibly. Hello! Oh and it's $5 for a new one which must be purchased to go back to class. Um nice.

I think Jen went to the same thing you went to and she spent $300.00. How much did you spend? When in October are you going? The resort looks nice. Have fun!
