Can we talk?

While I was in town today running errands at Home Depot and Sam's Club I decided to fill up my suburban...which mind you, I still had a half a tank, but I don't like it to get low. It still took $70.00 just to top it off! How crazy is that?! I saw this little car a few weeks ago and had to laugh as I took a picture of it. With gas prices they way they are, don't you wish we could just wind up our cars like the little toy ones and completely cut out the big oil companies who are raking us over the coals and doing all the ridiculous price gouging?! As I was filling up with gas Mark called me and asked if it was dusty where I was and I told him no, we had blue skies. Then I turned around and saw the big wall of dust rolling across town. Usually when these things come through I'm safe and sound at home, but me and Kyle had to drive straight into it. In between the city and my town we have to drive through 16 miles of desert to get home. While we were on that stretch of highway it was so thick and dark, I could only see the tail lights of the car in front of me. We thought it was pretty cool, but other drivers disagreed and there were several accidents on that highway. I'm glad we got home safely and although it was very cool to see, I prefer to be home when these things come through town.
Summer is here in Arizona and it's already hotter that heck, so I thought I'd share this little find with you. I'm finally found the perfect swimsuit for less than perfect bodies and I'm going to buy it from kneeshorts.com. For one, it's reasonably priced at $39.99 and because it's supportive and modest. Let's just be painfully honest here. I've given birth to 5 children, I cook and eat like Paula Deen, and don't exercise enough and it shows. There is no stinkin' way I'm going to prance around in a suit with my cheeks hanging out. I don't know about any of you other "fluffy" sized women, but the cellulite ripples are not only on my hiney...they roll right on down the legs as well. I don't care who you are...that's just UGLY! We won't even talk about tummies except if it's chunky like mine...cover it up! For the love of all things good and decent, please don't run around with it all hanging out for the world to see. That's all I've got to say about that. Now I can go to the water parks with my boys and not be completely embarrassed...well except for the fact that I have glowing white legs that resemble a plucked chicken, but that's nothing tan in a can can't fix, right?!
P.S. Thank you Andi and Susie Q for sending me the link to help Cole with his magazine report. It was a huge hit at school and he says he really likes you girls. That's a two thumbs up from a happy 10 year old boy!
I'm shutting down my computer for the night. It's faking sick and running slower than tar going up hill on a cold winters day...yada yada yada...It better be running speedy quick in the morning.

Jolene, LOL!
I'm right with you on the old body thing....I love that swimsuit. I might have to check that out. I'll bet driving in that dust storm was just a bit unnerving. Cool picture though! Hope your computer is up and running better in the morning.

Love the suit...and yes, for the love of all that is right in the world, buy the size larger in the jeans so I don't have to see your fat hanging over your waistband...buy the larger and longer shirt while youre at it...and don't wear those short shorts (it's cruel in AZ folks!)

I filled my tank up on Monday and then decided that I'm gonna try to sit at home as long as possible and not use any of the gas that I don't have to use! Hey, maybe then I'll get lots of housework done! Or scrapping.....

Gas prices *gad*. I am wondering if I will have to take out a *loan* when we go to Florida in September.

I have not been traveling around the city so much now and I still ahve 3/4 of a tank since exactly 1 week ago. (Wonder how long that will last before I decide to run around again) *smile*

Take care,
Love,
Terri

Gas prices here are at $1.05 per litre to which I have NO clue what it is when converted to gallons LOL. Me = bad at math

That car is too funny! Growing up in Alabama, I have no idea what it would be like to be in a dust storm. Scary...

Your post today is hilarious!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)

Glad you made it home safe. I usually like storms of all kinds, but prefer to be safely home during them.

I bought a swimsuit like that a few years ago. Love it.

That dust looks scary, I've only been in one of those eeeeks.

Oh, I am so with you about the horrible gas prices. We have a Tahoe and a Ford F150 truck, so we pay through the nose every time we fill up. I can't stand it!!!!!

Anyway, I finally did the tag at my blog, so don't forget to check it out!!

Love your NSBD LOs too!! So cute. Love the pictures your son took. Too funny! LOL

Amen to covering it up if it doesn't look decent! I've only had two children, but C-Sections do terrible things to your belly! I've got a tankini that has a shirt attached to the bottom piece to cover up my stretchmarks, Um I mean, Mommy Battle Wounds. That works for me!

I declare!!! You mean to tell me my ripply thunder thighs and rolly belly are not attractive!!! And here I've been thinking a string bikini would be a good choice this year!!! Yikes!!! This body hasn't been in a swim suit in years and I do believe it will stay that way!!! My girlfriend and I always wear capri's or cropped pants in the summer. Her husband asked if capri's were "shorts for fat people"!!! My dear husband knows better than to ever utter a word about a woman's size!!! Smart man!

Yikes! That dust thing is really scary looking! I would have freaked out! We had our monthly tornado, duck and cover drill at school today. As I was standing there looking at what a dumb spot I'm supposed to go to and thinking how towns have been wiped out recently....I'm going to grab my keys and cram everybody into a basement closet!

happiest day ever was last year when i found mix & match tops & bottoms in the plus..um...fluffy size dept. @ Tarshay. AND the bottoms were like boy shorts, just covering enough bum on me so no one has to be offended.

but i'll bet my legs are whitern yours. let's have a contest!!

SO glad you weren't hurt driving through that dust storm..it's looks completely scary!

That car picture is so funny..it IS too bad we can't wind them up for real!

And I'm loving that bathing suit. Just the fact that it's so modest scores points with me! That is such a great price, I'm headed to that link to check them out.

I agree - gas prices stink!! I have a suburban too and put gas in on Monday $84 and it still wasn't full. I just could not take putting more in.
That dust storm looks awfully scary! I live right off Lake michigan and it gets really foggy here, but doesn't look anything like that. Glad you made it back safely!!

I could use a swimsuit like that! And some tan in a can. And don't even get me started talking about my body ... I'm in a competition right now to lose x amount of pounds by May 15 with my business partner or I have to SHAVE MY HEAD! I'm not kidding. If I do, at least I won't have any more problems adjusting to that weird peroxide bleach color I created last week. HA!!!! Wish me luck! I'll wear that bathing suit on my head.
hee.

Yes, please give me a toy car like that!! I HATE going to the gas station these days!!!
I can' timagine how scary those dust storms must be.That pic of the dust coming in is amazing!!
I bought my swimsuit several weeks ago and I actually like it. It's an almost impossible task to find one that works with my three-babies-body, but it's actually cute. If I don'tlike below my waist I'm okay (then, there are my thighs!! lol)

Did you realize you have the power to have your own Fat (Fluffy) Girl's Club? I need something to motivate me...can't seem to do it on my own and dread the thought of paying WW. I've never tried Wendster's route. I wonder if the threat of having my head shaved would be enough to keep my binge attacks under control!

I'm glad your package made it safely to you, I hope you like it. I went on to the swimsuit site and am going to order some shorts from them - a pair for both Mia and me!

Nice suit. Are the shorts a bit stretchy? I hate the non stretch kind.
WOW, that dust storm looked wicked! Amazing.
Your photos of your home look so inviting. Love the table! I love black black black.

I've two words for ya....tanning cream! It works great for that first time exposure! LOL!
Love the swimsuit, might have to check that out a little closer myself. While my legs have a hint of Caribbean tan left, I still have the ripple effects to deal with covering! LOL!
I'm so glad I stumbled across your room pics...I'm enjoying our blog get-to-know-ya time! ;)
