American Idol...

First off I want to thank you all for being so sweet and supportive with all the stress in my life currently. I really appreciate it. I keep saying...this too shall pass. Of course there is a whole lot that has to pass so I'll need to have patience. I just finished cleaning the kitchen. It's 11:00 on Friday night. This morning we went and set up the church then Me, Mark and Will worked ALL day cooking food for the honors dinner. We made 25 stuffed pork chops, 25 chicken cordon bleu, 30 pounds of garlic mashed potatoes, huge batches of mixed veggies, green beans and corn. Loaded the car, went to the church, unloaded, served dinner, enjoyed the program, tore down and cleaned up there, loaded my again car, then home to unload again and clean up more. I would have taken pictures but there was no room in my car to even fit my camera. It was packed full, but trust me, it looked really nice. It's been one really long day and I'm exhausted and very glad to be done. That's one more thing checked off my to-do list. Mark is taking me out to breakfast to Bill Johnson's Big Apple in the morning so I'm happy about that. It's my favorite place for breakfast. For dinner...not so much.
I love both David's and I'm really looking forward to seeing who wins American Idol.
Fantasia's performance truly puzzled me. I'm sorry if you like her and this offends you, but she was just terrible! (in my opinion) We fast forwarded through the last half because it was painful to watch and hear. I really think Syesha has so much more talent.Really trying not to be mean here, but the whole time she was on stage this is who I was thinking of. Good old Mr. Heat Miser. LOL! Do you see the resemblance?
I'm just saying! :o)

If you don't remember who he is check out this little video and it will refresh your memory of him and his brother Mr. Snow Miser....well unless your too young to even have a clue who they are. They even have their own back up singers/dancers. :o)

Have a great weekend whether you're relaxing or out having fun. Just enjoy yourselves!

I so agree with you on Fantasia! I couldn't figure out what she was doing... she didn't sound like she was singing!

I am REALLY hoping David Cook wins. He is from my home town, and we went to school together. I never realized he is so talented.

I agree with you about Fantasia's performance. My husband and I ended up muting her halfway through it!

Did you see the look on Simon and Randy's face when Fantasia was singing? They both had their mouths open in disbelief...like what in the world is she screaming!!! I agree

Both David's are great but I think David Cook will end up winning. They both have good careers in music ahead of them.

You've been a busy girl. I'm headed off right now myself to set up for a dinner tonight and I'm already tired.

LOL!You are funny! That really is a great resemblance! I never really got Fantasia as much as others did and she was awful this week! I do adore both Davids tho and will be happy for either of them and sad for who doesn't win! LOL!

LOL! She was awful wasn't she? I kept thinking to myself that her backup singers were better than she was! Never liked her back when she won either.

I've never liked Fantasia's singing. All the yeah yeah yeah's and it sounds like screeching to me. I was actually cleaning the kitchen when she was on the other night, so I was spared. LOL! Totally agree that Syesha sings so much better!
Looking forward to the David finale!!

Oh girl! I so agree about Fantasia! I've never like her - she doesn't have talent...and how she ever won I'll never understand! She was a screaming mess the other night...a screaming mess! The backup singers were doing the singing...all she did was strut around like a rooster cabaret show gone bad! Geesh! I'm placing my vote on David Cook -but it's anybody's night! Rest easy this weekend, girl. You deserve it! : )

WOW!!! I can't believe how much food you prepared!! Glad it went well!! LOL about the Mr. Heatmiser/Fantasia comparison. I don't think I've seen that show, but I thought it looked like the Rudolph-type animation just from the picture before I even clicked on the YouTube link. Have a nice weekend to rest and recover from all your cooking!

Since I'm out here in Okinawa, I didn't get to see her perform, HOWEVER I'm not too surprised she was awful.

When you get a chance, take a breather from all your activities and just soak in the bathtub and enjoy some candles and nice music! ;)

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs from afar,
Vida ;)

Never was a Fantasia fan, her performance the other had me going HUH?? The look on Simon's face at the end seemed to say the same thing.

GO David Cook GO :-)

Fantasia bugs me too...

I really think if you are doing the cooking AND setting up for the dinner someone else should do the clean-up. I often think you do too much Jolene but that's just me.

TOTALLY agree with you about Fantasia. We only made through abaout 15 seconds before we fast-forwarded it!

Now I have so totally had my laugh for the day sweetie. Heat Miser...oh my gosh! She DOES look like him!!
And was she ever awful. I never liked her and could not believe it was her who won it all. But what do I know...
David Cook is my guess.

If anyone deserved the right to scream at the top of their lungs, it is YOU!!! I wish you could jump in an airplane and fly here and let me cater to you foe a few days. You deserve that.

I send hugs and lots of love. Take time for YOU and that is an order!!

Love,
Sue
