Tax write off???

I know what you're thinking....where in the world has Jolene gone, right??? I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I'm still here, just no time to even think clearly. I've been incredibly busy. We've had people look at the house everyday but Sunday, but no offers yet. I hope soon! There is so much to do around here and I haven't even begun to pack. Cody and Cole packed up several boxes from there room. I'm starting to panic a bit. I really want to be moved out before I go see Chad on March 14th, but we have ALOT of CRAP... ummmm.... stuff. It's not just the work that scares me, it's the thought of driving away from my house for the last time that makes my stomach hurt and sends me into an emotional break down. I pray for strength to be able to handle everything that's coming....both physically and emotionally.
Got a call from Cole tonight while we were at the movies celebrating my mom's birthday "reminding" me that his Arizona project was due in the MORNING! HELLO! Makes me crazy...as if my life isn't busy enough. Anyways....when I got home to work on the project I was trying to figure out what we could use to section off the regions, so I got out my Making Memories shimmer glitters for a colorful and sparkly map of Arizona. I'm thinking that we should be able to write off scrapbook supplies when they are used to help with your children's education. Since I'm not an accountant I don't know all the legalities, but it's worth checking into if I could make myself feel a little less guilty about all my purchases.
Speaking of scrapbook supplies...I would love any storage advise from those of you that own acrylic stamps. I have tons of wood mounted stamps, but only have a few sets of the acrylic ones...which by the way, I LOVE! I'm just unsure of a good way to store and organize them. I really like my scrapbook supplies to be organized, so it's bugging me that they are just in a little pile on my desk. I'm also looking for a large/long acrylic block. I only have a small one, so I haven't been able to use all of my stamps yet. I've been able to read a few of your blogs each day. Trying really hard to catch up with all of you. Don't give up on me. :o)
Blogger MADE me upgrade to the new version. What's up with that?!

LOL
I think that there is a way you can use that stuff as a tax write off...and I am being serious. When I taught school, there were a lot of things that we could count of my scrapping supplies...because I used them in my classroom everyday. It is definitely worth checking into.
The map, btw, looks great!
I am still praying for you and your family and I know that it is a difficult time in your life. But honestly, you amaze me, at how you do all that you do and still are so caring about others...when you are hurting and stressing. You are a sweet soul!
As far as the stamps, I store mine in a clear snap-lock container that I got at Michael's....it is one of those 12x12 boxes...and I can see what is in there. However I am looking at the new spin rack that I have seen in a couple of my scrap magazines...it is really cool looking. I will try to find the link and send it to you.
Take it easy and get some rest if you can! It will get better and you will feel better after things settle down a little bit. Take care!
Hugs,
Heather

Jolene, we'll be in Queen Creek while you are away and then we're moving to the Residence Inn at 8242 N Black Canyon Freeway on the 19th where we will stay until the morning of the 22nd. Surely some of that time we can hook up.

My friend Shirley with whom we're staying in Queen Creek is an avid stamper. Maybe we can both get a time to spend with you.

How can I get in touch with you other than through the Blog? My cell phone is 863-512-0851 and my email is amygill@gte.net. Both will be available all during the trip.

Love the map...I'd give it an A+

I just keep working on getting my scrapbook supplies organized. It's almost a never ending task! Wish I had a suggestion for your stamps...maybe Robin will have an idea. She's the stamp queen!

Glad to see you posting! Was getting worried about you.

As for storing you acrylic stamps, I've seen people put them in the jewel cases that CDs come in and then either put them in a CD tower (with little labels on the edges so you know what they are) or a CD box. I've also seen people put them inside those clear sheet protectors and then into a 3-ring binder. OH and I read somewhere (2peas maybe) that people were unmounting their wooden stamps and storing the stamp part the same way. If they stamp doesn't just come off they said to stick it in the microwave for a couple seconds to loosen the glue and it would come right off. Most of my stamps are from CTMH and they are in the storage box from CTMH, the rest are in a drawer, but I'm getting a shelf to line them up on instead, so I can see them all instead of rummaging through the drawer to find one that is at the very bottom!

Jolene,
Everything will fall into place with the house, you will see. My advise on the house, once you leave don't look back only forward to the future. Read my post from Tuesday.

As far as the stamps go there is this great stuff called cling. You take all your blocks and transfer your stamps to this cling, you can store them in CD cases. Then you use your acrylic blocks. There is a company that sells it called the angel company. I will get the website addy for you.

Have a great day and remember to smile, God will take care of everything

Hey Jolene...good to hear from you again. You've been in my thoughts a lot lately...I hope all will go well and very smoothly with your move. I love what you came up with for the map. If I could write off my supplies, we would have surely gotten a bigger return-LOL! I store my acrylic stamps in a photo storage box. Since they all lay flat, it works really well. And then I have the box labeled-Acrylic Stamps.

I too believe scrap supplies should be a tax write off, as well as any monies put toward our fur babies. And gasoline ... and car insurance ... and, and, and. I'm teasing!

I hope you find the perfect thing to organize your stamps.

I switched over to the new blogger about a month ago, and honestly I see no real difference. But as they say "the only constant in life is change".

Okay, you will have to let me know what YOU got for a grade! LOL YOu crack me up! At least he didn't wait until morning!

PS I still haven't mailed your scarf!

Okay! Okay! It is now in an addressed envelope. I just have to get it sealed without getting the furry stuff stuck in the adhesive strip! Will go to post office after work....maybe! ; )

The map looks good.. My son did that to me once too. At 9:00 at night he say "Mom my science fair is due tomorrow".. I was up until 1:00 in the morning working on it with him...Hey I think we might be miracle workers after all... Did you tell Amy we are blogging buddies?...I am so glad you came to visit me, I was getting worried about ya.. Take care, just remember to keep looking forward and not back... If I lived in Arizona I would come and help you pack up and move....

The map is sparkly and pretty...just like the real AZ...ok, I exaggerate! I think you're going to do just fine with the house, if you go slow (easy for me to say, as I am not the one going through it!)

Blogger is whack-a-doodle...I wonder when they will make me upgrade? Oh, all these new fangled things...makes me a bit crazy!

I say go for the tax write off! You worked so hard! And tell Cole he's a lucky kid because my son would not have got my help the day before something was due! Yep, I'm not nice like you! ;)

Love the new house photos, it sounds great, I hope you are very happy there once you get used to the whole move thing! ;)

I find myself using my scrapping supplies for other projects too! I guess I figure I can always buy more!

Great glittery states!

Best of luck with your move. At the Rubber Stamp Convention the dealers suggest using a three ring binder to store your unmounted stamps. I recently purchased a set from The Angel Company and I have to say that I was impressed. The stamps cling on to the acrylic just fine. Let us know how you decide to organize them.
