Tonight I decided to de-stress and work on Chad's birthday album. I really like the simplicity of these two pages. Just used bazzill cardstock, Rhonna Farrer stamps with embossing ink and white embossing powder, a white pen and a teeny clock. Gosh...my boy sure is handsome! They are so darn cute together! I had to include a family picture so he can look at us when he's lonely. By the way, for those of you sending him care packages who wanted ideas. He did mention that he would love DVD movies that he can watch on his laptop. You know...they have those cheap ones at Wal-Mart. He likes action, comedy and sports movies really a lot....like Angels in the outfield, Field of dreams, Rudy, etc. Just not rated R. Thanks so much ladies!
Chad sent me money, because he wants me to fly out to Fort Bragg with Sandy in March. So tomorrow I will be buying a ticket. I'm very nervous about it. Not just because I'm under enormous stress here at home, but I don't travel much. I just know that I'd be so full of regret if I didn't go see my boy. We would leave March 14th so we can see him when he is released at 12:01 on the 15th. We'd stay in a hotel for his 96 hour pass. My birthday is on the 16th. (that will be weird not celebrating it with Mark) I have no idea what we will do while we're there. Then he will take us to the airport at 11:00 p.m. on the 18th, but our flight doesn't leave until 5:55 a.m. on the 19th so we'd be spending all night in an airport in North Carolina. That REALLY freaks me out...SERIOUSLY! The lack of sleep will kill me I'm sure, but I can't fall asleep in front of people...one, because it creeps me out and two, because I snore...loud...like a big old man with a cold...very embarrassing!

Will you be flying out of Raleigh Durham? If so, you'll be fine. It's most definitely less hustle and bustle than Sky Harbor. I used to live in Chapel Hill, NC (GO TARHEELS!!!!).
Oh, how I wish that you could pack me into your suitcase!
Jolene, your layouts are gorgeous! What a lovely gift for Chad. I know he will love it! I am so glad to hear the you are going to go out to NC to see him when he gets his pass. You will be so glad you did!
BTW, I am still working on the idea that I told you about with Mallory's first grade class. Thanks for the ideas of the DVD's!
Hope you are doing well and keeping your chin up! You are so sweet and I have been thinking about you and your family a lot! Take care!
Your LO's are just beautiful. I love the stamps. He is just going to love his album. That is great news about seeing chad b4 he goes... make the most of your weekend. Take care Amie
guffaw...I hate trying to sleep in airports...mostly because I'm worried I'll miss something! I am so excited for you to go...I love to travel, and you guys are going to have so much fun! It is super sweet that he's flying you out there...that boy loves his mama!
Love the layouts and also really pleased you'll get to go and see Chad - what a lovely son you have and you're obviously very special in his life. Enjoy your time with him and Sandy. I just laughed out loud at your description of yourself sleeping - when I was pregnant my husband described my sleep habits in a similar way ;o)
Have a good weekend and try not to stress too much - one day at a time.
It's wonderful that you and Sandy will be able to spend time with Chad before he leaves. If I lived in NC, you and Sandy could come and stay with us the final leg of the trip and wouldn't have to sleep in the airport. I wish we lived closer!!
Your layouts are just gorgeous! Chad is going to love them.
I wish Fort Bragg was closer to where I am in NC. I'm in Charlotte and have a guest bedroom that could have been all yours!
Your layouts are beautiful!
I am so glad you are going to see him. I don't think you would sleep if you had the chance anyway so no great loss...You can make it up when you get home. He'll love the album.
I love those layouts there such a cuute couple. Enjoy your time with your son glad you'll be able to see him and spend time with him,,,;)
I really love the colors you are using in his book. These are great layouts!
I will buy Fields of Dreams to go in my care package for March. Besides, that is one of my "Favorite" movies. You know what? I snore badly also. But sometimes not as bad as one of the cats :)
Take care,
Terri

I love the LOs!! I love those flourish, swirly, doodle stamps with the embossing powder. Neat look. How great that you'll get to fly out to see Chad!!! Focus on the positives, that you'll get to spend time with him before he leaves, and hopefully that will help you not be as nervous.
Do you not just LOVE white pens? They are some of my very fave scrapbook toys! The layouts are just gorgeous and full of JOY!!
You definitely need to fly to see Chad; you will do fine with the traveling, I'm sure!!
