The big 4-0...and organizing

Mark's 40th birthday is tomorrow....or today depending on when you read this. (Thursday the 25th) He is not very happy about it. I told him to embrace it but he didn't think that was funny. He;s such a kid anyways. I don't see why the number 40 should scare him. :o) He is such a wonderful husband and father. He is so NOT shy. He talks to everybody and anybody. I'm not exaggerating about that. Even when we are traveling and trying to make good time, we always get held up at the gas stations, because he gets all involved in conversation with who ever is pumping gas next to us. He just so friendly and funny that people can't help but love him.
Happy Birthday!
I love you Mark!
Please wish him a happy birthday...even if you don't normally leave comments, just so he can feel the love. Thanks in advance!

I cleaned out and organized the closet my catering/serving pieces are in. I love that I can see exactly what I have. Mark has the other half of the closet for his motorcycle stuff. I may have to squeeze into a bit of his side. :o) How does one figure out the cost of food per person to know what to charge for catering? How much do you mark it up to make a profit? That is the hardest part for me.

I hope you are all doing well. Thanks so much for the sweet compliments on my handouts. You all make me feel so much better about things. :o)

It's not 40 you need to worry about, it is 50! (trust me I am 55)...so you have 10 more years before things start to slow down...enjoy every day, and every age ..you are blessed by your wonderful family...and I so enjoy reading about all of you ...only wish I lived closer, to bake you a big chocolate cake and give you a hug...and stamp with your wife..haha..ER

You're so organized Jolene. I love getting to peek into your pantry and storage places from time to time. Everything is always so neat. I admire that.

Look how YOUNG you are!!

Hi Jolene,
Happy Happy birthday to the big guy!!! Happy "40th"!!!
I also do catering. I charge double for each dish I do. If the grocery's come to $15.00 for the dish, than I charge $30.00 for the dish. Because, if they were to go to the deli to get this, you are charged per pound for everything, also they can get all of there food cost at bulk, and so much of their food comes in already pre-made from "Sysco" & etc.. From us, everything is "homemade", I know you do alot of cooking & baking for others... I've been following your blog for a long time... You are do very generous with your gifts & talents that you've been blessed with....
You ROCK!!!

Hi Jolene!!
Go tell that social butterfly of a hubby I said Happy (belated) Birthday!! I have a chatty, friendly husband, too. Something as simple as sending him for milk always ends up taking much longer than it should. It's endearing, though, isn't it??

Have a great week!
