helicopter crash

Today is a very sad day in Arizona as we lost 4 well respected men in the news business as their two helicopters collided in Phoenix this afternoon as they were following a stolen vehicle police chase. I've shed many tears while watching it all unfold. It's heart breaking. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and the colleges of these pilots and photographers. Such a tremendous loss.
Channel 3
Scott Bowerbank - pilot
Jim Cox - photographer
Channel 15
Rick Krolak - photographer
Craig Smith - pilot
They will be dearly missed by many!

Thank you, Jolene, for putting this tribute on your blog. I was making some gifts this afternoon when I turned on the tv sortly after the collision. I watched all day in horror and heavy sadness. Channel 3 has frequently landed at the school I teach at and having a strong affinity for aviation, my eyes are always 'heaven bound' when these guys fly overhead. I have shed many tears today for the loss of these talented and dedicated men. Thank you, Jolene, for doing this post. I thought about doing it, but didn't. You did a beautiful job. May God be with those brave men, their families and coworkers and all hearts that are heavy.

That is so sad. I just watched the CNN video on this. It brings back sad memories of when a popular, local weatherman here in St. Louis committed suicide in his airplane several years ago. It was one of those situations where all these years later, it's still hard to believe he's gone.

Oh Jolene, I have cried buckets over the past few days, grieving for these men and their families... soooo very sad. I spent the whole day watching the news, listening to those that saw the helicopters go down, knowing they will have to live with the horror of having witnessed such a moment.

Oh my gosh! Did they crash right near where you were? Did you take those photos of the helicopter crash? How tragic. We lost our traffic lady a many years back as she did her traffic rounds. Helicopter lost power and she crashed. So so sad. Let's acknowledge the rest of the news people who continue to go up and take risks to bring us the news. Helicopters are risky business.
