Tuesday stuff

I hope you're all not sick of seeing baby pictures, because I can't get enough of this little guy. I find myself staring at him every time we go to the hospital. I don't know if it's just because he's my grandson, but I think he is absolutely cute beyond belief! I love him so much! When he comes home I want to do a real photo shoot of him instead of just hospital snapshots. Mark and I took the motorcycle up to see him last night because it was so nice outside....perfect riding weather. When we check into the NICU we always have to show ID before they let us in. After we got back into his wing the nurse actually asked for ID too. That has never happened. I think maybe she was a caught a little off guard by two people that she hasn't seen before carrying motorcycle helmets walking straight into his little area. In my opinion, I don't really think we are scary looking people...do you? He has different nurses all the time so we kind of teased her about us never seeing her before either, since we are us here nearly everyday. She really was nice and had his best interest at heart, so I can't fault her for being extra careful with his visitors. He got all the way up to 50cc on his feedings, then started spitting up again, so he's back down to 20cc...it's frustrating! I sure hope he gets the hang of this soon.
Coleen came by this morning and picked me up to go with her and the kids to the science center. I took some pictures, but they are still in the camera and I'm too tired to upload them. Some of the area's were pretty fun and some were just so lame and boring. (IMO) We still had a good time together! While I was there I missed a call from Chad. He was very upset and left a message about being discharged because of the mind games and something about them not honoring the contract he signed. I was freaked out and worried sick. Several hours later we were able to actually talk to him and he had a long sit down talk with his drill sergeant, so now he is doing fine and is sticking it out. Whew!!! Gosh, this parenthood is a stressful thing.

I personally love when you share pictures of Baby Mark. He brings a little bit of sunshine to my day when I see his beautiful little face.

I'm glad Chad sat down with the drill sargeant and talked things out. The other night I shared with Mike what Chad was experiencing and he said they were getting him ready for things he may endure, making sure he could emotionally handle it. I never thought about it that way ... my first instinct was of a "mother figure" to protect him ... I'm not saying it's right, but getting Mike's perspective made me think about it.

Anyway ... I'm glad you were able to speak to him and he's feeling better about the whole thing.

Being a mother and knowing military men, I did some research also. They spend about 3 weeks breaking you down and then the rest of the time building you back up. They have to know that they are strong enough not to crack under pressure. Okay that answer won't do for a mother...we don't want people treating our babies like that!!! :(

Speaking of....you stare at the real thing I stare at the pictures and I am wearing out my computer screen so send more and more and more and...........

How could you ever get sick of baby pictures?! I am looking forward to him coming home for his professional little photo shoot as well...

I am really glad that Chad had a talk with his sergeant, and I hope it helps him endure what he needs to, so he can be successful with all of his life choices! I think his reacting this way proves how sensitive and thoughtful he really is...and I think you should congratulate yourself for raising such and amazing boy!

He's a very pretty baby, so it's not just because he's your grandson, LOL....
Hope things work out with your son in the military...geesh!

Jolene, He is beautiful! I saw the closeup picture before I read the blog and I just stared at it and thought how PRETTY he is! I can't believe he's in the NICU, he looks so healthy! I know it won't be long before he is home with y'all. I'll bet the baby abduction in some state (can't remember) has everyone on alert for safety. Glad Chad is feeling better about being there and I am praying for his mental strength. Love you!

Jolene - The baby is just precious - I can just feel your love for him when I read. Is is one lucky boy to come to a family that loves him so much.

And oh - I just can imagine how helpless you feel with Chad far away and not being able to fix his situation. You just have to pray that in the end it is worth it and he is stronger becuase of it.

I'll keep all your boys in my prayers.

I wanna see the airplane pic in here- that was funny. I hope Chad remains strong enough to stick it out. He will feel accomplished and proud of himself if he does. I can't believe I haven't seen baby Mark in person since he was born. I guess the pics have tided me over. Marlon was asking yesterday about him. I told him to look on your blog but the boys were on the computer at the time so you will have to call and give him your blog address. Love ya!
