family night AKA-family home evening...

We've been trying really hard to have family night every week. We gather as many members of the family as we can, because it's near impossible to get all of them at the same time. This week we took the two youngest, Cody and Cole to Tia Rosa's for dinner {my most favorite Mexican food restaurant on the planet} Then we went to the Temple and watched the Joseph Smith movie and walked around the grounds. We decided to take a bunch of pictures while we were there because it's so darn pretty, plus Cody and Cole wanted updated pictures for their facebook profiles. The good mom that I am will gladly take pictures of my boys. :o) Suprisingly the boys really look forward to our time we spend together, no matter what we've got planned. That makes me feel really good because most, {not all} older kids don't like spending time with their parents.

hey Jo, you might like to go to House of Whimsy. It is a great friend of mine. She has really cool crafts with links to other great blogs with crafts.... and... it happens to be Emily Polands mother!! Can't believe you didn't share your moms blog, Emily!!! :)

Wow...I just got caught up on your blog entries...and you make my life sound calm. I sure hope Kyle is ok...and I agree with you...luck is luck but divine intervention is the key! You just amaze me at how you juggle your life and still find time to have fun with your friends and family. Glad you are back blogging as you are one of a few that I read who have teenage boys and life situations I can relate to!

So glad you're back Jolene. Tember has been filling me in so I so glad to see all is well and Kyle on the mend. And I am major jealous that you had dinner at Tia Rosa...my favorite Mesa place and I haven't gotten over in more than a year...sigh.

You have a beautiful family. My oldest just went back to college and I have two in high school. It's weird when Steve and I go out to dinner wtih just Mark. It doesn't feel right but we are adjusting to having our kids growing up.

You all look fabulous. Just got internet again (hubby and I separated, moved to a new place, and it took forever to get set up in the new place) and just got caught up on your posts.
Glad that Kyle's recovery has been so miraculous! Wow. What a story!

And how fun to have the grandbabies in your house. I remember trying to live with my parents when I was first married the first time .. . I remember how challenging it was to blend people's opinions ... even on simple things like cooking a meal. But must be really fun to have the boys with you.

Good to hear things are going well, albeit a little crowded, over at your house.

hugs to you!
